Meralgia Paraesthetica.
There are two diagonal ligaments joining the front of the pelvis to the central pubic bone, at the top of each leg, are called the inguinal ligaments. They cross over the femoral blood vessels and femoral nerve, at the top of the leg. The superficial nerve is susceptible to compression and can cause numbness and tingling in the outer part of the upper thigh. This condition is called Meralgia Paraesthetica. This can occur with prolonged sitting and often occurs if people carry objects in their front pockets or are overweight. Losing weight and reducing the time spent sitting as well as removing the opjects can help.
